[File Image] Accused 1, 2 and 3, Muzi Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, and Prince Mncube seating in the dock at the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial in Pretoria.
The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is expected to resume in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.
Five men are on trial for the murder of the then Bafana Bafana captain at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s home in Vosloorus East of Johannesburg in October 2014.
More than two weeks ago, high court officials travelled to Vosloorus at the site where one of the accused, Muzi Sibiya, had alleged that police assaulted him.
This followed Sibiya’s arrest in May 2020.
He demonstrated how he was allegedly kicked and suffocated on the pavement outside the Ekurhuleni Municipal building.
“I was handcuffed like this. I was seated like this, that’s when they had put the plastic over. Although I can’t say this is a specific place, I was at all times handcuffed but there were no leg irons on my feet. And then I was made to sit like this, handcuffed when they then started to put a plastic over me and started to assault me.”
