Bail hearing of Jayden-Lee Meek’s mother to resume in court

The bail hearing of the mother of 11-year-old Jayden-Lee Meek is expected to continue in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court in western Johannesburg on Monday.

Tiffany Meek is charged with the murder of her son, and defeating the ends of justice.

On Friday, she told the court through her lawyer, that she intended to plead not guilty to all charges. The accused claims that she has been framed.

The State has revealed that the accused used an object to fatally hit the boy on the head.

The deceased’s uncle Owen Meek addressed the media outside court after the case was postponed.

“Monday we will be back (to find out) if she will get bail or what. During this time, we ask for some respect for both families. A lot of what was said in the bail application we do not agree with. We stand firm on what our beliefs are. We are very humbled and very blessed,” said Owen.
