Former South African President Nelson Mandela at the UN
South Africans and the world at large celebrated International Mandela Day through pledging 67 minutes of their time giving back to those in need.
One of the initiatives saw Xoliswa Ndoyiya, former chef to Mandela, feature the former stateman’s favourite dishes to mark his birthday.
Another was a traditional music group entertaining tourists outside Mandela’s house at Soweto, in Johannesburg.
