Several motorists who were trapped in the snow on the N2 in Kokstad, southern KwaZulu-Natal, earlier expressed concerns about their safety as the severe weather conditions continued.

The N2 between Port Shepstone and Kokstad leading to some parts of the Eastern Cape has been covered with snow. This has led to the closure of various roads including parts of the N2.

Dumisani Vilakazi was transporting passengers from KZN to Mthatha,

“Up to so far now we have not gotten any help, there are no helicopters at least that are coming in and help us, nothing is happening here that is the biggest problem we are facing.

I’ve got passengers here and babies are even crying. There is a guy who was asking me how is he going to drink his medication without food? He says before he drinks his medication he needs to have food. Even myself I also take medication.”
