Nafiz Modack’s case has been remanded to 8 July 2025 for sentencing
Alleged underworld kingpin, Nafiz Modack has been found guilty on a charge of corruption by the Cape Town Regional Court.
Hawks spokesperson, Zinzi Hani, says this comes after the sentencing of former Brigadier Kolindren Govender who admitted that a corrupt relationship existed between himself and Modack.
Hani says during November 2011, Modack paid nearly R150 000 to Govender, in return for special treatment.
Former top cop Govender pleaded guilty to 51 charges of corruption that relate to Modack.
Govender was handed five years imprisonment of which four and a half years were suspended, on condition that he was not convicted of corruption.
The sentence was ordered to run concurrently with the six-year sentence that was handed down on a different matter.
The matter against Modack has been remanded to 8 July 2025 for sentencing.
