Truck on its side on the N1
The N1 South before the Maraisburg offramp has been closed after a diesel spill.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) says traffic is backed up all the way to Beyers Naudé Drive in Randburg.
It says the diesel spill occurred from one of two trucks which collided.
It has advised motorists to use alternative routes.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla says emergency responders and law enforcement are on the scene.
“The estimated time for the scene to be cleared is not yet determined. Motorists are advised to be aware of the heavy traffic disruptions. Avoid the N1 South before Maraisburg Road if possible. Consider using alternative routes such as 14th Avenue and Hendrick Potgieter Road.”
