Outside the KwaMhlanga Magistrate’s Court.
Two suspects arrested in connection with the disappearance of journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner Zodwa Mdhluli are expected to appear in the KwaMhlanga Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga this morning.
The couple was last seen in Mamelodi, Pretoria, in February. Last week, police discovered human remains in Rust de Winter, Limpopo, believed to be those of Ndlovu and Mdhluli.
So far, five individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
Over the weekend, National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola confirmed that DNA testing is underway to confirm the identities of the remains. He said the process could take up to a month.
“In terms of the DNA, we will try our best to expedite. But give and take a month to come to the right conclusion. The DNA will take more or less, three to four weeks. We think we will be able to know,” said Masemola.
