Three of seven charges against Mpofu dropped

1 minute

Three of the seven charges in the Legal Practice Council’s (LPC) misconduct probe against Senior Counsel Advocate Dali Mpofu have been dropped.

This is in light of individuals such as Chief Justice Mandisa Maya and former Public Protector Advocate Thuli Madonsela indicating that they will not participate in the postponed proceedings.

Reacting to the developments, Mpofu says it was expected.

“I am on record on SABC, having said myself, that this whole thing is a witch-hunt that is politically motivated. I mean, some of these charges as I said are very laughable to say the least. Those laughable charges have been dropped to prove that there were indeed laughable,” explains Mpofu.

“Even the remaining ones, I think, are just nonsensical equally. So, it is a question of time. So, the climb down by the LPC, in withdrawing these charges, was something to be expected,” he adds.
