Mpofu to appear before LPC commission over alleged misconduct

Senior counsel Advocate Dali Mpofu will this morning appear before an Independent Disciplinary Committee of the Legal Practice Council (LPC).

He has to answer to charges of alleged misconduct before the body, which is mandated to set norms and standards as well as regulate the professional conduct of legal practitioners.

Mpofu SC is facing seven charges relating to allegations of breaching the code and bringing the legal profession into disrepute.

If he is found guilty, the consequences could be as serious as being struck from the roll of advocates.

Mpofu has described the charges as “frivolous and completely unsustainable”.
