Police in the North West have arrested two men, both aged 33, for the alleged murder of 43-year-old Motlalepule Kau. They were arrested at Tlakgameng, near Ganyesa, outside Vryburg.
The duo is expected to appear at the Ganyesa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on charges of kidnapping, rape, and murder. Kau was reported missing last Wednesday in Mahikeng.
Police spokesperson in North West, Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone says police followed leads that led them to discover the body in a shallow grave in the bushes between Tlakgameng and Kudunkgwane villages, near Ganyesa, a day later.

The body was positively identified by a next of kin as that of Motlalepule Kau, who was reported missing at Mahikeng police station on Wednesday, 23 April 2025.
The gruesome discovery came after forensic leads led the investigation teams that worked tirelessly in the area.
