Three suspects are expected to appear in the Brits Magistrates’ Court in the North West on Tuesday in connection with murder and robbery charges. This follows the discovery of a man’s body in Hartbeespoort Dam earlier this week.
According to North West police spokesperson Mpho Manyoba, a 21-year-old man who had been robbed of sporting equipment and other belongings identified one of the suspects, a woman, while she attempted to board a taxi. With help from a local security company, the woman was apprehended. During patrols of the surrounding area, security personnel discovered a man’s body in nearby bushes.

Further investigations led police to the Brazaville Section in Atteridgeville, Gauteng, where two men and the woman were arrested. Preliminary findings suggest the woman, allegedly working as a sex worker, collaborated with the two men to lure and rob potential clients. During the arrest, officers recovered several stolen items, including cell phones and the sporting equipment.
