SAPS on a manhunt for motorist who ran over pedestrian in Rivonia

The South African Police Service (SAPS) is appealing for help in locating a motorist seen in a video that has gone viral on social media.

The man is seen in a four-by-four bakkie driving over a person several times before fleeing the scene in Rivonia, Johannesburg.

The incident happened in a parking lot.

Gauteng Police Spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident that happened earlier this month.

“They found a man lying on the side of the road with injuries all over his body. The paramedics declared him dead. A case of murder is opened for further investigations and no one has been arrested as yet. All the leads to trace the suspect are being followed and anyone who has information that can assist the police in locating the suspect is requested to contact the Crime Stop Line at 08600 10111.”
