Mpumalanga law enforcement authorities have launched the provincial Easter Weekend Road Safety Campaign in Mbombela.
Traffic volume is expected to increase on the province’s roads as travelers head to different destinations for the Easter long weekend.
Over 600 traffic police officials will be deployed throughout the province to monitor traffic flow.
Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Jackie Macia says reckless driving will not be tolerated.
“We have unwavering believe that together we can turn the tight because road crashes and carnage can never be a problem for authority to solve alone together. Certainly, we can do more we shall be using a methodology of placing our traffic officers at a strategic point to ensure a content present at identified spots which are known for accidents.”
