Additional policing on critical routes for Easter: Creecy

1 minute

Transport Minister Barbara Creecy says additional policing will be deployed on critical routes across the country to ensure road safety during the upcoming Easter holidays.

Creecy officially launched the 2025 Easter Road Safety Campaign in Pretoria.

The campaign seeks to prioritize and promote safer road use during this high-traffic period.

She says routes that traditionally experience high traffic volumes, especially those leading to various religious ceremonies, will be closely monitored.

“We will also be ensuring that throughout this period, our joint operation centres are operating where municipalities, provinces and ourselves work together. And we will be focusing on critical routes across the country that require additional policing. This includes the N4, R71, Libode on the N2 and the Mthatha’s R61, the R54, the N3, the N2, the N4 from Middelburg to Gauteng and the R66 in KZN.”
