The Free State Department of Health says efforts are underway to trace and notify the next of kin of the victims of the crash which occurred on the N6 between Reddersburg and Smithfield in the Free State.
The crash between a truck and a bus claimed 10 lives on Wednesday. Twenty-seven people were injured.

Departmental spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, says two of the five victims who were admitted to the Pelonomi hospital in Bloemfontein have been discharged, while 18 of 22 people transported to Stoffel Coetzee hospital have also been discharged.
Mvambi says the identification process of the deceased will begin soon. He says they plan to conduct all post-mortems related to the crash on Friday at Welkom Government Mortuary.
