The Free State Department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport says it has noted with concern the high number of road crashes as a result of inclement weather in the Thabo Mofutsanyana District this past weekend.

Fifteen (15) incidents were reported, of which two were fatal, claiming five lives.

Roads MEC Jabu Mbalula has urged road users to exercise extreme caution when driving in adverse weather conditions and adjust speed according to the prevailing conditions.

Mbalula has warned that pockets of waterlogged areas and reduced visibility can be deadly.

The MEC has  extended his condolences to the families of the deceased.
