21 learners have been injured in two separate crashes in KwaZulu-Natal
Twenty-one learners have been injured in two separate crashes in KwaZulu-Natal.
The first incident occurred on the P483 near the Karbochem turn-off in Newcastle, where a bus carrying approximately 30 passengers lost control.
The second collision took place on Khan Road in Pietermaritzburg, involving a minibus taxi transporting learners.
KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service spokesperson Craig Botha urges motorists to exercise caution when transporting children.
“The patients between the ages of 10 and 16 were stabilised on site by dedicated medical teams before being transferred to various hospitals, while the P483 suffered significant closures for an hour. Both scenes have since been cleared. It is a massive relief to report that despite the severity of these wrecks, there were no fatalities. We urge all motorists to exercise caution, especially when our children’s lives are in their hands.”
