Sundowns take CAF Championship celebrations to the streets

Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League champions Mamelodi Sundowns took their celebrations to the streets, with a victory parade in Mamelodi and across parts of Tshwane.

The Brazilians returned home in the early hours of Tuesday morning after their triumph in Rabat, Morocco, wasting no time in sharing the moment with their supporters following their historic continental success.

Shortly after touching down from Morocco, where they secured their second CAF Champions League title, Sundowns paraded the trophy through Mamelodi and the capital city.

Thousands of supporters lined the routes to catch a glimpse of the newly crowned African champions and celebrate their long awaited second star.

Sundowns sealed the title after a one all draw against Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces in Rabat, securing a 2-1 aggregate victory.

The continental triumph comes despite falling short in the domestic Betway Premiership this season, capping off a memorable campaign on the African stage.
