Prominent taxi boss Madoda “Joe Ferrari” Sibanyoni and three co-accused appear in court.
The case against businessman Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni and his co-accused has been postponed to 1 September in the Delmas Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga.
This is for the defence to secure legal representation. All the accused have been granted bail of R70 000 each.
Sibanyoni, Daniel Masilela, Philemon Msiza and Bafana Sindane handed themselves over at the Delmas Police Station on Thursday morning where they were processed before appearing in court. They are charged with extortion and two counts of money laundering.
The matter was re-enrolled after it was struck off the roll at the Kwaggafontein Magistrate’s Court last week when the prosecutor failed to appear in court.
“The bail is R70 000 each and you will return at this court on the 1st of September 2026. You are to report to a person in charge at a police station which will be discussed with the state. You are not to threaten any witness and not flee the country. Failure to follow these instructions may lead to an arrest,” says Magistrate Sinakiwe Buthelezi.
