Prominent Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo “Shebe Maburna” Chauke is expected to approach the High Court in Polokwane for another bail appeal on Wednesday morning.
Chauke’s second bail application at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court was denied earlier this month after he re-applied for bail on new grounds.
His initial bail application was denied in December last year.
Chauke is facing 20 charges that were added at the Regional Court early this month.
The charges include three of attempted murder, malicious damage to property and illegal possession of a firearm.
He approached the High Court in January and his application was dismissed.
Chauke has been in custody since his arrest in November 2025.
When he appeared for the first time at the Regional Court for his trial date, 11 new charges were added.
The matter was adjourned to allow the defence team time to familiarise themselves with the additional charges brought against Chauke.
His lawyers have decided to approach the High Court again to appeal for bail before the trial begins.
