South African weather forecast for Saturday, 21 February 2026.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms across KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) over the weekend.
Authorities have warned that heavy rain, strong winds, intense lightning and possible hail could lead to flooding in low-lying areas.
Motorists are also advised to exercise caution.
Forecaster Masego Nhlapho says, “For today we are expecting scattered showers and thundershowers overlapping to tomorrow and then for tomorrow, we are expecting scattered showers and thundershowers and for tomorrow afternoon, we are also expecting Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorm over the western parts of KZN.”
