Fannie Nkosi’s theft case postponed, lawyers withdraw

The Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court has postponed the case against suspended police sergeant Fannie Nkosi to July 22.

Nkosi faces charges of theft, defeating the ends of justice and unlawful possession of explosives.

He was arrested after police raided his Pretoria North home last month where they found a stun grenade, ammunition, firearms, R 50 000 in cash and multiple police dockets linked to serious and violent crimes.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) requested a postponement so that this matter and the dagga possession case in Thohoyandou in Limpopo be centralised.

Nkosi’s legal representative has also withdrawn from the case. He remains in custody.
