Despite the scoreline, the supporters were entertained by a team that appeared composed and well-structured and bossed their opponents, sitting 71 places below them in the world rankings.
Bafana dominated the possession and territorial stakes but failed to breach the Nicaragua defence which will be a concern for coach Hugo Broos and his technical team.
