National imbizo
The South African Spaza-Shops Association has called on government to convene a national imbizo on empowering owners of tuck or spaza shops.
The association’s president, Kgothatso Ramautso says, “As tuck shop owners, as informal traders we are making a call to government to say call us to an imbizo. We need to speak about these issues because closing our economy means that boy is going to lose his job. This thing we need to look at it holistically and be able to deal with it from that point.”
