The Freedom Front Plus has made a plea that the Expropriation Act must be amended citing the law is a threat to private property ownership.

The party leader, Pieter Groenewald says they have been warning that the Exporiation Act will cause problems for South Africa. This comes after America’s President, Donald Trump signean Executive Order targetting South Africa for what he calls the violation of human rights.

Groenewald says they will continue to play crucial role in ensuring the country solves its own problems.

“The Freedom Front Plus has warned over the years that expropriation without compensation will be a threat to private ownership in South Africa. We also said that it would be detrimental to economic development, specifically when it comes to foreign investment to build the economy.”

The  Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) has weighed in on the Executive Order as well.

PAC General Secretary, Apa Pooe says the US wants to fund the injustices in the country. He says the party will continue to fight to get the land back to its original owners.

“The PAC views Donald Trump’s action not only as an upfront sovereignty of our nation, but also an example of neo-colonialism and interference in internal affairs of our democratic state. It is particularly disheartening to note that during the darkest days of Apartheid, when Africans were subjected to oppression by white people in South Africa, the United Nations offered no support to our liberation.”
