Mineral and Petroleum Resources Minister, Gwede Mantashe is representing President Cyril Ramaphosa at the Investing in Africa Mining Indaba under way in Cape Town on Monday.
The Presidency says this follows a change in his schedule.
Mantashe is now leading the government delegation and will deliver the keynote address on behalf of Ramaphosa.
The indaba serves as a platform for stakeholders to discuss the future of the industry, under the theme: ‘Future-Proofing African Mining”.
Since its inception in 1994, the Indaba has become a key event for mining professionals, investors and industry leaders looking at the vast opportunities in Africa’s mining sector.
