Political analyst Dr. Levy Ndou says corruption allegations against Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, should be taken seriously.
This comes as pressure mounts on President Cyril Ramaphosa to take action against her.
She is accused of allegedly benefitting from a R2.5 million tender while she was the manager in the Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality in Limpopo.
Ndou says, “The allegations against Minister Ntshavheni cannot just be taken lightly. Any matter that is corruption-related and especially among high-ranking politicians requires urgent attention.”
Meanwhile, political analyst Sandile Swana has called on Ramaphosa to apply his mind when appointing ministers.
Swana says the President should not appoint Ministers who are implicated in corruption.
He says, “Ramaphosa should refrain from appointing people who have skeletons in the Cabinet because since I think for a very long time Ntshavheni was a municipal manager. This has been known that she is allegedly involved in such things, but Ramaphosa went ahead and appointed her. Total disregard for professional ethics and revolutionary morality.”
