The State Diamond Trader has reaffirmed its commitment to responsible industry practices, as it continues to foster growth in the natural diamond industry.
The body plans to strengthen the country’s position as a prime destination for natural diamond trade and industry collaboration.
This amid the growing competition from synthetic diamonds.
The statutory body will host the inaugural South African Diamond Show in Cape Town next month.
CEO Nosiphiwo Mzamo says they also want to highlight the potential of the industry to drive much-needed economic recovery.
“Job creation and skills development are equally key towards the future of the diamond industry. As such South African Diamond Show will not only generate employment but support initiatives that promote skills development, capacity building and empowering the next generation of industry professionals.”
