African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa has assured the residents of Khayelitsha and surrounds that the party will prioritize services to the people of the Western Cape.

Ramaphosa says this can be achieved through the ANC’s renewal programme which will ensure that the party produces ethical and decisive leaders.

He is speaking at the party’s January 8 Statement that is being delivered at the Mandela Park sports complex in Khayelitsha.

“We seek to improve the quality of services and integrity and responsiveness and accountability of government in all spheres. Thirdly we aim to renew and rebuild the ANC so that it can provide decisive and ethical leadership in the resolution of our country’s problems.”

He also thanked party members that are attending its 113th anniversary celebrations, saying that it’s a sign that the party is not dying.

Meanwhile, South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) has pledged its support for the ANC for next year’s Local Government Elections.

SANCO says that it is pleased with the Government of National Unity and what it stands for, as it is reminiscent of the country’s first democratic elections in 1994.

SANCO President Richard Mkhungo addressed the ANC’s in Khayelitsha.

“We thank the ANC’s move, to have this Government of National Unity, so that we have an opportunity to stabilise our country. We’re saying to African National Congress, we appreciate that, we’re saying, this African National Congress belongs to the people of South Africa. As SANCO, we’re going to continue to support our liberation movement. We’re going to mobilise and we’ve started mobilising for the victory of the ANC come Local Government Elections.”
