Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) Party leader Jacob Zuma’s lawyers have written to the African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Fikile Mbalula to demand Zuma’s immediate reinstatement as ANC member.
This is pending what the lawyers term compliance with the constitutions of the ANC and the country.
Legal experts say this appears to be a precursor to further litigation.
The ANC officially expelled former President Zuma from its ranks in July 2024.

Then following an appeal from Zuma, the ANC National Disciplinary Committee of Appeal upheld the suspension in November, last year.
Zuma was charged following his 16 December 2023 endorsement of the MK Party.
His lawyers who are also seeking more information on his expulsion have given the ANC until 31 January 2025 to respond to their demands.
