Passengers queue as they make their way to different destinations.
Airports are experiencing their highest passenger influx of the year, with the Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) expecting more than 20 000 travellers to pass through South African Airports this Friday.
The company operates nine airports including Cape Town International, King Shaka International and OR Tambo International.
Recently it faced challenges of fuel supply and biometric glitches. But to manage the increased traffic, the company says it has implemented measures such as additional staffing, enhanced security and streamlined processes to minimise delays for passengers.
Boitumelo Msimango is travelling from Cape Town.
“I’m so excited and we are promoting local tourism from here. I’m heading to Limpopo to support Makhadzi tomorrow as she will be performing. But what I’m looking at now, we need to improve, in terms of domestic, in terms of the flexibility of the queue. We have seen lots of people in the queue. If we can have technology and be able to move smoothly so that we can arrive at our destiny safely.”
