The Mpumalanga Economic Regulator has started with its festive season campaign of visiting liquor outlets to check compliance with their license conditions.
Mpumalanga Economic Regulator’s, Elijah Mamba says they have already closed some liquor outlets who are not complying.
He says they have also confiscated illicit liquor.
“The Mpumalanga Economic Regulator has in conjunction with other stakeholders, namely – the Department of Agriculture, Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Home Affairs Immigration, SAPS, Local Municipality planned joint operations this festive season.”
“The operation will see them visit some of the licensed liquor outlets with the purpose of enforcing compliance with license conditions. The campaign already started in Middleburg where we witness closure of non complaint liquor outlets and confiscation of illicit liquor product. The campaign continues for the duration of the festive season,” he adds.
