Build One SA press briefing
Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane says the party will continue to fight against the bloated government cabinet.
Maimane briefed the media in Johannesburg on Thursday on the party’s work in Parliament and the Gauteng legislature this year.
There are currently 32 Ministers and 43 deputy Ministers appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa after the 29 May elections.
Maimane says the government can do away with deputy ministers.
“We are the only party today, fighting for the reduction of cabinet. I think we do not need deputy ministers and in fact, if you had to streamline it further, it is not rationalising of Ministries only it is ensuring that your budget is aligned to the staff you get.”
