Delegates of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) third National People’s Assembly are steadily streaming onto the University of Johannesburg’s Soweto campus to register.

The conference will start tomorrow at the Nasrec Expo Centre with party leader Julius Malema’s political report.

Over 2 100 branch members, observers and voting delegates are expected to attend the conference.

Besides electing new leadership for the party, the delegates will discuss policy propositions in 12 commissions on issues including the organisation’s character and re-design, land, health and gender struggles.

A delegate from the Free State, Liziwe Limpho says, “As you can see our women every time every day are being raped and killed, our children. So I think in that commission we have to come up with a resolution that says that, we must make the President of this country accountable in terms of taking tangible action against those who are doing this because amadoda (men) after doing these things, they run away and hide and they are not caught, so it is very imperative to discuss this thing in our commission.”
