Govt must be tough on criminals: Sanco

The South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) members have started gathering at Paul Kruger Square in the Pretoria CBD ahead of their march to the Union Buildings.

The aim of the march is to demand action from government on issues including illegal mining and undocumented migrants.

Sanco National Spokesperson Donovan Williams says they also want government to be tough on criminals and deal with the country’s high unemployment rate.

Williams says, “Our government has become careless and does not care about communities and residents. Sanco is leading citizens to march to the Union Buildings and demand that our government works with us to solve these matters. We know that they are not easily resolvable but we do not see the urgency and focus to be resolved. We hope our government wakes up and takes notice.”
