South African Airways (SAA) says its flight schedule has returned to normal.
This after over 100 pilots resumed work yesterday after suspending their two-day strike action.
The South African Airways Pilots Association, the National Transport Movement and SAA management reached a conditional agreement yesterday. It includes a 9.47% wage settlement from the pilots’ 15% demand.
SAA spokesperson Vimla Mistry confirmed that pilots had returned to work after an agreement was reached.
“The resolution by SAA executive management to offer pilots an additional 1% salary increase, resulting in a total salary increase of 9.47%. The airline extends its heartfelt gratitude to our valued customers for their patience, understanding and support during this period.”
