Spaza shop owners join Mangaung Metro registration drive

Spaza shop owners have come out in their numbers at Paradise Hall for the registration drive launched by Mangaung Metro in Bloemfontein, Free State.

Spaza shop owners were given 21 days by President Cyril Ramaphosa to register their businesses, two weeks ago.

Some of the owners are calling for an extension of the deadline.

Mangaung Metro spokesperson, Qondile Khedama says, “The outreach is important because it teaches people who are running spaza shops what is required of them. One of the things that is critical is making sure that they comply because if you don’t comply you won’t be able to get a permit. We are encouraging everybody, whether foreign or local, they must comply.”
