President to receive Madlanga Commission 2nd interim report on Friday

The second interim report from the Madlanga Commission is expected to be handed to President on Friday.

The President established the Commission in September 2025, following allegations of corruption and alleged political interference in law enforcement agencies.

Since its establishment, the Madlanga Commission has heard testimony from 60 witnesses who testified on alleged corruption within these organisations.

The Madlanga Commission commenced its hearings in January this year.

Since its resumption, the Commission has heard testimony from 32 witnesses over more than 60 days.

This includes officials from the Ekurhuleni and Tshwane Metro Police Departments, as well as testimony relating to major drug busts that occurred in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

Five applications for in camera hearings were considered by the Commission.

Four of the applications were granted, while one application brought by North-West businessman Sulieman Carrim was rejected.

The Commission, which has been on a two-week break, returns on Monday.
