Government housing project
The Minister of the Department of Human Settlements Thembi Simelane says she is concerned about the shortfall of the targets they set in housing delivery as government.
The Minister tabled her department’s R27 billion budget earlier Wednesday in Parliament.
Simelane says they have only managed to achieve about 23 000 housing units in the past financial year.
“We remain deeply concerned about the pace of the housing delivery in relation to our target of 37 000 because we have only managed to deal with 23 000 units and I think we must be able to close the gap.
