Grandparents of missing Limpopo toddler to apply for bail


The grandparents of missing two-year-old Omphile Sithole are expected to apply for bail on Monday at the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court in Mokopane, Limpopo.

The accused, Vinolia Mabuela and Jacob Ledwaba, who are Omphile’s paternal grandparents, are facing a charge of child neglect.

Omphile went missing in the early hours of May 2 after she reportedly disappeared from her room. She has still not been found.

The pair were remanded in custody following their first appearance at the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court last Monday.

The State argued that the accused should provide compelling reasons to justify their release on bail.
