Mahikeng in shock following murder of social activist

The shocking murder of Thato Molosankwe, a Mahikeng entrepreneur and social activist has left a community demanding justice.

Known for fighting against corruption and crime – Molosankwe also walked thousands of kilometres to raise awareness about gender-based violence.

His murder in the early hours of Wednesday, this week, has ignited a renewed passion for the values he stood for.

The activist’s family has urged the police to expedite the investigation into his killing.

Those, who worked closely with him say, he was a leader who believed in truth.

Molosankwe’s business partner Chuck-D Busang explains how they intend to remember him.

“As a memory, because we agreed the last time we were together, we are going to build a centre. I’m going to establish another centre that is going to be in his memory. We’re from a Christian background, normally when somebody is departed, we say God takes the soul, death takes the body and the memories remain with us. So for the memory of Thato, I’m going to make sure all his activities are going to be taken care of.”

Meanwhile, the family hope his killers will be apprehended soon.

“We are sitting with quiet confidence. Trusting and hoping that our police service will bring the perpetrators of this will be brought to book because the police are our hope,” says Thabang Tikane, speaking on behalf of the family.

Thato Molosankwe will be laid to rest on Saturday
