Aubrey Modiba of Mamelodi Sundowns celebrates goal with team mates during the CAF Champions League Final – 1st leg at Loftus Versfeld Stadium
Mamelodi Sundowns hope to leave for Morocco on Wednesday morning ahead of Sunday’s second leg of the CAF Champions League final against AS FAR in Rabat.
The players spent eight hours on the tarmac in the aeroplane on Tuesday, while the charter company waited for a landing clearance permit in the Moroccan capital, which had been applied for a week earlier.
The players later disembarked and returned home; the non-issue of the permit is regarded as mind games or spitefulness.
Sundowns won the first leg one-nil at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday in a match marred by clashes between AS FAR supporters and security personnel.
