Former police officer Rosemary Ndlovu and her co-accused, Nomsa Mudau, have been convicted by the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court east of Johannesburg on charges of incitement to commit murder.
The conviction relates to a 2018 plot to kill Mudau’s husband. Investigations later revealed that Mudau allegedly engaged directly with the hitmen and promised payment after claiming insurance money following her husband’s death.
The matter has been postponed to 15 July for the compilation of pre-sentence reports and sentencing proceedings.
“The NPA welcomes the conviction of former police officers Rosemary Ndlovu and Nomsa Mudau for incitement to commit murder. The conviction comes after the court found that Ndlovu arranged hitmen to assist Mudau in plotting the murder of her husband in 2018. The hitmen later reported the plot to the intended victim, leading to the arrest of both accused. Ndlovu is already serving six life sentences for the murders of five family members. The matter has been postponed to the 15th of July 2026 for pre-sentence reports and sentencing proceedings,” says NPA’s Magaboke Mohlatlole.
