Minister of Social Development Nokuzola Tolashe
African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General, Fikile Mbalula says the Integrity Commission is seized with the matter of the embattled former Social Development Minister, Sisisi Tolashe.
On Thursday, President Cyril Ramaphosa fired Tolashe, replacing her with Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga who will act in her portfolio.
Tolashe, who is the ANC Women’s League President, is facing allegations of controversial appointments in her department and misleading Parliament about the vehicles she received from the Chinese on behalf of the ANC Women’s League.
Tolashe was hauled before the party’s integrity Commission last month, Mbalula elaborates:
“The process is the Integrity Commission. The Integrity Commission is seized with the matter. The report is not final. When the report is final, it will be given to the SG, like all other reports. The SG will table the report to the National Executive Committee to deliberate on it and take decisions about what must happen in terms of their recommendations.”
