Member of Parliament Fadiel Adams appears before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee on March 4, 2026.
A dozen of National Coloured Congress (NCC) members have been protesting in rainy and cold conditions outside Parliament, ahead of their leader, Fadiel Adams’ court appearance on Wednesday. Adams will appear at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court for a bail application.
He was arrested at his house in the Parliamentary village in Cape Town last week regarding three counts of fraud and two of defeating the ends of justice.
It is alleged that he interfered with the murder investigation of the former African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) Secretary-General, Sindiso Magaqa by making unauthorised visits to the accused in Westville Prison.
The group of party supporters say they will spend the night outside Parliament and continue with their protest during his court appearance.
“Right now, our party president is somewhere in a cell, so we don’t care if it’s cold, because we don’t know the conditions that he is in. So, we are here, because we want to show everybody that they are trying to silence the one person that we voted for, that’s in there, that’s our voice, they are trying to keep that voice behind bars,” says party whip Anastatia Davids.
