The humanitarian organisation Gift of the Givers says inaccessible roads and impassable terrain are severely hampering its operations in the Northern Cape.
Flooding in the province has displaced thousands of people.
Gift of the Givers founder, Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, says they have distributed aid to hundreds of affected families.
They include 400 in Karos and Leerkrantz near Upington in the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality.
Doctor Sooliman also says the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) will provide air support on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Gift of the Givers has placed emergency response teams across the Eastern Cape on high alert.
This was after the South African Weather Service issued a warning for disruptive rainfall.
This has raised fears of widespread flooding, infrastructure damage and possible displacement in vulnerable communities.
The organisation has deployed teams to key areas including Buffalo City and Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality.
The SANDF is working alongside disaster management authorities as officials brace for potentially dangerous weather conditions across the province.
