Community members and civic movements marched in Vosloorus calling for Mazwi Kubheka’s safe return.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi and Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni are expected to brief the media later on Sunday morning on the latest developments around Vosloorus spaza shop owner Mazwi Kubheka.
An unharmed Kubheka presented himself to the police in Vosloorus on Saturday night after he went missing a month ago.
Kubheka disappeared on April 2 after he left his home to pay rent for his spaza shop in the township.
On Friday, hundreds of people marched through Vosloorus calling for his safe return.
Kubheka was questioned by police before he returned to his family.
In a statement, police said the circumstances surrounding his missing persons case are still sketchy and investigations are underway.
They also thanked the community, media and all stakeholders who assisted in distributing information and sharing the missing person alert.
Community members say they are relieved that Kubheka is back home.
