Supporters of the EFF gathered outside the Regional Court in KuGompo in the Eastern Cape during party leader Julius Malema’s court appearance on 15 April 2026.
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, has called on his supporters to remain calm and avoid any form of disruption as they await his sentencing at the Regional Court in KuGompo in the Eastern Cape.
Thousands of EFF supporters have gathered in the city in support of their leader.
Malema has urged them not to engage in any actions that could bring the party into disrepute.
Supporters have since returned to the Jan Smuts Stadium where they held an overnight vigil, vowing to remain there until sentence is delivered tomorrow.
Malema urged them to avoid retaliation to any provocation.
“If you misbehave, you are going to confront some of us because we will not allow anyone to tarnish a good image of the EFF. We must all protect the image of the EFF. There will be agent provocateurs amongst us. When they do wrong things, those who love the EFF must be the first ones to call them to order and say if there is a time to attack, the leadership will give a command.”
