Ndimande brothers back in court for bail application

The bail application of the two Ndimande brothers linked to the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane is set to be heard in the Durban Magistrate’s Court this Friday morning.

During previous proceedings, Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande informed the court through their legal representatives that they would now seek bail after previously abandoning their application.

Forbes and Motsoane were shot and killed outside a restaurant on Durban’s Florida Road in February 2023.

The Ndimande siblings were extradited from Eswatini last year.

The two were then transferred to the Ebongweni Super Maximum Correctional Facility in Kokstad in January, due to security concerns.

Their lawyer, Advocate Sibusiso Dlamini, indicated he would apply to have them moved to Westville Prison in Durban.

He argued that the distance to Kokstad limits their ability to consult with him and that their consultations are conducted in the presence of guards.

The brothers also face several additional charges, including murder in a separate case linked to the killing of a taxi boss in Amanzimtoti.
