Gauteng govt confident it will surpass R300bn in investment pledges

Gauteng says it is confident that it will surpass the R300-billion investment pledges mark today at the Gauteng Investment Conference 2026.

The conference is aimed at mobilising investment, advancing industrialisation and accelerating inclusive economic growth.

It also intends to attract at least R800-billion in new investments over three years.

Macro Business Intelligence Group Executive at Gauteng Growth and Development Agency, Muzi Mathema says, ”

“The R200 billion we’ve been working to achieve it … so we’re very confident that when we announce today, we will achieve a figure in excess of that amount. However, what is important is the reason why we have these investment conferences. We are strongly convinced that capital in the Gauteng city region will result in jobs created, factories built, goods exported from Gauteng, and overall people’s lives changed through economic development.”
